We have openings in our Long Beach and West Los Angeles groups.

Please note that Pacific Skills Training, which owns RealHope.com,
is a separate organization from Alyce La Violette's Alternatives To Violence agency.

The Long Beach Alternatives to Violence does have openings and you may call Alyce to do an intake at the Long Beach Alternatives to Violence office. at 562 493-1161 to leave a message for Alyce at option 2.
Below you'll find other local westside referrals we recommend:

Near Pico and Beverly Glen Blvd.'s is Southern California Counseling Center. Their number is 323 937-1344.

In Mar Vista/Culver City- Ken Segal-Evans, Another Way- 310 967-6065

In Beverly Hills/Hollywood- Jim Gordon 310 271-3784 Jim has women's domestic violence groups.

In West Los Angeles Michael Levitan has a group for men. His number is 310 556-2050

Our intake fee is $150. for the one and a half hour interview.
Group sessions are $60. per session.
Our groups are approved by the County of Los Angeles to meet the requirements of the 52 week court ordered classes.
We do not take insurance for our anger management/domestic violence classes.
Our groups focus on changing the beliefs that support verbally controlling
and abusive behaviors. Each group is facilitated by male/female teams.
Professionally facilitated groups for men with behaviors ranging from controlling verbally abusive to being physically violent.

The majority of our group members are self referred and not coming because the court sent them. This means that there is more motivation for change present in our groups. If you have a desire to stop controlling & abusive behavior, we have a great track record for helping you make the changes you're looking for. Confidentiality, is a priority and has been maintained in the past, despite the presence of notable persons.

Only participation in Anger Management / Domestic Violence Groups or Classes will satisfy the court requirement for the 52 weeks of enrollment.  However, Marc or Alyce may see individuals or couples for private treatment sessions when the man or woman self refers or volunteers for coming to treatment AND when there has been no physical violence for more than 6 months. Couples or marital therapy is not appropriate when one partner is using intimidation, abuse or violence. More information about this topic HERE

It is often said that 'those men don't change.'
This is true for men who do not enter treatment.
We have witnessed tremendous changes with our men.
Not just in their abuse behavior, but in their attitudes
about respect, empathy and responsibilty.
